As part of the continual training and development of our staff and so ensuring a first class service to our customers, four of our technicians, plus our head surveyor and managing director, Adrian Dawson attended a wall tie training course at the new Property Care training center in Cambridge in association with Pam ties.
The training center is fully equipped to provide training on all aspects covered by the Property Care Association, from damp/ water proofing to structural related defects, with fully equipped training rooms for both theoretical and practical sessions.
The course covering both the theory side of wall tie installing, which is covered within documents ‘BRE digest 329 Installing wall ties in existing construction & BRE Digest 401 Replacing wall ties.
The excellent facilities at the PCA training center allows hands on and classroom training to be undertaken from apprentice to time served technicians, to both learn and maintain their skills.
The excellent class room facilities also allow theory and the health and safety side of wall tie installation to be studied as a Chas registered contractor this is considered just as important as the practical learning side.
Simon scanning the wall area to establish the location and density of the installed wall ties.
Simon and Callum receiving instruction on how to undertake testing of the wall ties once installed, this is a very important part of the wall tie installation and a requirement of BRE digest 329 & 401 to ensure the wall tie system installed is working, testing equipment is expensive and many contractors don’t own a testing rig, ask your contractor if he tests the wall ties they install.
We are proud to say they all passed with flying colours as competent wall tie technicians
